A box with stories
The Re-unification of the two Koreas written by Joël Pommerat is a series of unrelated snapshots about love. Each of these 17 scenes is taking place in different scenery. Therefore, set design which I created is quite simple and universal. Main element of the set is a huge cube comprised of mobile components.
These mobile elements on the stage are making-up new composition and different space in every scene. Interior of cube has various arrangements in every story. As such, there is bedroom, office, consulting room, church, police station etc.
Spectators are not able to see changing elements of the set which are placed on the mobile platforms, so every new composition is a surprise for them.
Parting of cuboid represents never ending search for unsurpassed and ideal love. This is a specific game between internal and external, visible and invisible, real and imaginary.
